Do you remember what "amaryllis" means?  If you don't, you can look it up at Wordcentral. This is a really good kids' dictionary.

Belfast is a really interesting city.  Use a kids' encyclopedia to find out cool facts about it.  It will give you plenty of good information on lots of things.  Factmonster is one of the best ones I've found.

Play some games!  On this website, Clifford will play reading games with you.

Let's find our state on the map! Where in the World? will help you learn our states and countries.  This will help you find Ireland this month!  Can you tell me what countries Ireland is near?

Want to learn more about the United States?  Try this Webquest!  Match the letters to the corresponding envelopes.

1. What street is the Minneapolis Post Office on?  Our ZIP code is "55405".  Check the United States Postal Service website.

2.  Who was the first African-American to have their face on a postage stamp?  We learned about him last month.  Look at the Stamp on Black History site to find out.

3.  If you are a stamp collector, or philatelist (fill-AH-tell-ist), should you handle your stamps with your fingers?  If not, what should you use instead?  Look at Stamps.net's Basic Resource Center for some good tips!

4.  Can you tell me the name of one book about postage stamps?  The Minneapolis Public Library's Kids Website can help you find what you're looking for.  (Hint:  Search their catalog!)

5.  Finally, the "one for fun"!  Tell me one exciting-sounding event happening in Minneapolis this month.  Minneapolis' Leisure page can tell you about some fun stuff.  If you get a chance, go to it and write about it in your journal!
