Stuff to do at State Park



Activity Description
BicyclingBicycles are allowed on the Ice Age Trail and the connector trail between Steinke Basin and the North Shore Picnic Area. A trail pass is required on this 4-mile trek. Bikes are restricted to the bike trail or paved roads only.
BoatingBoat ramps are located on either end of this non-motorized lake. Canoes and rowboats may be rented from the concessionaire on a seasonal basis, and life preservers are required for all watercraft.

Hiking20+ miles of easy-to-difficult hiking trails are available throughout the park, with spectacular views of the lake and surrounding area from atop the 500-foot bluffs.

FishingDevil's Lake offers a challenge to any angler; from bluegills and crappies, to bass, brown trout, northern pike and walleye. Wisconsin fishing license required.

SwimmingSand beaches located on both ends of the lake provide scenic swimming and sunbathing areas. No lifeguards are provided.

Scuba DivingAll divers should remember to follow safe, established diving practices. Diving flags are required.

Bird Watching100+ species of birds nest at Devil's Lake, including the winter wren, the Canada warbler, the Arcadian flycatcher and the red-bellied woodpecker.

Nature ProgramsOffered by a Naturalist from early June to September. Nature Center hours are regularly posted.

AmphitheaterProvides a natural setting for Nature Programs throughout the summer.
